Las Manos believes very strongly in supporting our local community and many National and Worldwide organizations such as.

Land Trust of the Upper Arkansas.

LTUA is a locally based, non-profit organization which helps to protect ranchlands, open space, natural resources and wildlife habitat in the Upper Arkansas Valley. As part of their "Common Cents for Conservation" program, we ask that you contribute 1% of your bill to LTUA to help keep our valley beautiful. This is a completely voluntary donation. The Nature Conservancy    This excellent worldwide organization does on a world scale what LTUA does here in our area.

Opera Colorado Every Spring, Opera Colorado Outreach program visits Buena Vista to bring a varied program of Opera and Broadway to the community and both the Elementary and High Schools. Las Manos hosts several of the performers during their stay.

Ark Valley Humane Society Our local humane Society does an excellent job of finding homes for abandoned pets, and returning lost ones to their owners.

Arkansas Valley Art Center

Central Asia Institute ..This is the wonderful organization that is documented in " Three Cups of Tea" and their new book " Stones into  Schools. Greg Mortenson has founded over 100 schools in the most remote areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, especially schools for girls...to help end terrorism through education.

Great Old Broads for Wilderness A national, grassroots organization dedicated to preserving and protecting wilderness areas across America. We donate a stay with massages to their annual auction.

Walden Chamber Music Society The Walden Chamber Music Society was originally based in Dallas, but the Boatright family moved here a few years ago and started a local Colorado offshoot. The Boatrights and their friends and family have provided our area with wonderful chamber concerts and performances. They have performed at Las Manos and we contribute regularly to their fund-raisers.

National Wildlife Foundation Colleen has worked hard to receive a " Certified Wildlife Habitat " designation from the NWF. That means we provide the four basic habitat elements needed for wildlife to thrive: food,water,cover and places to raise young.

Sierra Club

Friendship Bridge This wonderful organization is modeled on the Grameen Bank, and makes small loans to poor women in Guatemala and Vietnam. We donate a stay with massages to their annual auction.

Rocky Mountain PBS We love PBS and our local Denver channel is no exception. We donate a two night stay with massages to their annual auction.

Alliance Against Domestic Abuse

Odyssey of the Mind Three teams from our local McGinnis Middle School have made it to the World Finals in Maryland in late May. Congratulations. We donated two massage packages to help raise funds for their trip.

Jude Silva local artist extraordinaire   Jude has two beautiful pieces at Las Manos, both in our main "Kiva" living room. 

Leah Cerise is also a magical local artist who has several monoprints at Las Manos and at our in-town massage studio. Colleen also wears one of Leah's hand-crocheted necklaces made of tiny pieces of her birthstone peridot, and her favorite amber. 

 Quiet Use Coalition    The QUC is an activist group that promotes, creates and preserves areas in Federal lands that do not allow off-highway or any motorized vehicles. 

 Colleen and William ran in the LeadKingLoop run in September in Marble. It was a beautiful run and a benefit  for the Marble Charter School.

William ran in the Collegiate Peaks  Trail Run   in May which is an annual fundraiser for the Buena Vista Optimist Club.
