Buena Vista Colorado Bed and Breakfast, Massage, Lodging - Las Manos Bed and Breakfast

Multiple Chemical Sensitivities

Last fall, we met Crystal Bedford N.D., who stayed at Las Manos for a few days. Dr. Bedford suggested that she would like to send some of her Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) clients to visit us since we were not only "green" but very allergen and chemical free.

In mid-July we hosted one of Crystal's clients and her family for their 45th anniversary. We're delighted that they had such a wonderful time.

"Thanks so very much, dear ones, for giving us the perfect setting to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary with our whole family. Your spectacular home with both suites fit us perfectly since we all are from and love the Southwest. Your diligent, caring attitude about our safe comfort made it easy for us to not have to be concerned about environment or food. Living with MCS is always tough and very isolating, so finding you and Las Manos has been a blessing. People with Environmental Illness and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities have a real treat in store if the make it to Buena Vista.

At Las Manos, they will find a clean atmosphere and "prepared-just-for-them" mostly organic food. And "dee-lish" as our Grandson kept saying. Amen to that from all of us.

Thank you especially for caring about each guest and accommodating our special needs. I am safe here, William and Colleen, and cared for to the last detail. We are already planning our next retreat with you. We think you both are simply terrific'" Peg and Lee Loveland CO

"i just wanted to share with everyone a great bed and breakfast find for a relaxing, healthy and- for me- safe getaway. My partner and I stayed at Las Manos Bed and Breakfast in Buena Vista CO this past weekend. It's a gorgeous, energy efficient, environmentally friendly strawbale home. I am a niversal reactor with pretty severe sensitivities and I did fine...so much that i didn't want to leave, as it's pretty much the safest place i've been in years, including my own current housing.

I have no financial interest, but really wanted to share this info, as it was so nice to finally be able to get away on a mini-vacation - something I haven't been able to do since I was chemically injured.

Some more details.....The house is strawbale, radiant heat, adobe walls, with adobe or slate or wooden floors. I usually feel wood terpines, but felt nothing from the wood flooring etc in this house. They use 7th Generation products, so i didn't even have to use my own sheets. And the water is fresh clean well water. Oh, and to boot, they use solar and wind powered energy.

The owners are completely open and mindful and aware and kind. They already have a chemical-free home and lifestyle, but went above and beyond ensuring I would do OK with everything They were great to talk to and also cooked incredible breakfasts( with awarenss of my dietary restrictions.) Oh, and the best part- they are both massage therapists. We got a couples massage in our room and agreed they were the best massages we've ever had.

The house is a good size and there only two bedrooms, on opposite sides of the house. So, even if there are other guests there, you feel like you have this beautiful home to yourself. If you're sensitive and thinking of staying there, I'd probably suggest the Sunset Suite, as it's on the opposite side of the house to the kitchen.

The surroundings are breathtaking. No neighbors - just mountain views, hummingbirds, bunnies, wildflowers and clean air abounds. We went to nearby hot springs and did some great hiking too.

The price was reasonable too. And they are planning to build separate cabins soon :)

Feel free to ask me any questions, too. Jill Sverdlove Boulder CO
